Building a steel disaster relief boat

    You can find out more at, but in October we set sail in a 57' sailing trawler for the South China Sea (we're based on Alameda, CA, USA). This boat will carry an all-volunteer crew, 5 tons of staple foods (maybe more), a 1000 gallon/day watermaker and has 50kW of power generation capability. The plan is to get enough food, water and medical supplies to support 1,000 coastal survivors.
