    Flammable Mosquito Spray

We were having a cookout and my little sister was getting bug bites, so we went and got the OFF! - 'Is OFF! flammable?'

Deet is probably not flammable, but the propellants are for sure.

The last above vid is a pump spray, which doesn't need propellants, so I guess it's also the evaporating deet solvents that burn.

And it only took 7 years for somebody to notice.

Oh, snapping turtles are called that for a reason. I do odd jobs around the local golf links. Some odder than others. Today, I helped put the roof back on the pump house after a new 60hp pump stack was put in. A few weeks ago, I had a new employee call about a turtle. Normally, we just let them be, but I figured I'd show the kid how to deal with them if the need ever arose.

You could make a lot of soup with that one.

I've noticed it before, but never could decide if it was an intentional pun (very funny), or an unintentional misspelling.
I understand that snappers have very long necks. I've been nipped on the finger when I've touched a "conventional" turtle on its shell, and decided I never wanted to be nipped on the finger while touching the shell of a snapper. Apparently, it is safe to pick one up if you grab far enough back. But those claws look pretty wicked too.

Yes, it was an intentional pun referencing the paint pail.

Oddly, a snapping turtle can't rake you with its hind claws and do any real damage (compared to, say, a big iguana), although a big one can push pretty darn hard if it gets a good purchase on your wrist. The little ones under about 10 pounds do have sharp claws and can scratch you a bit. This one is about 15 pounds or so. We have have bigger ones, like 50 - 60 pounders the size of a car tire. I wouldn't be strong enough to pick one up and hold it far enough from me to be out of range. Bite range is roughly the same length as it's shell, so don't roll it back where you can look down at it's mouth else you will loose your nose.

Yeah, I always look for prop scars on the cab roof. The ramp at Beaufort is notorious. You can't even stand on it during an outgoing tide.

My favorite was at Flamingo in the Everglades. Family on vacation tries to launch runabout. Leaves it strapped to trailer and doesn't put the plug in. Boat floats trailer. Trailer lifts minivan and the whole thing rolls back in the lagoon. Then the boat fills with water and sinks. Fun fact - It wasn't their boat - they had borrowed it from friends, and when they discovered their car wouldn't tow it, they borrowed the minivan from some more friends. The LEOs left the whole thing in the water for about a week while they sorted it all out. And they were at the wrong ramp. They wanted to go bay side, but were at the back country ramp. They might have noticed the dam between them and where they wanted to go. It's 20 feet from the ramp.

I finally convinced the boss it was time to change the oil in the John Deere Gator. No word on if they will fix the brakes. Some kinds of gator swim better than others.

Now I'm afraid the belt drive has become wet and will slip if you want to drive off there, also don't see a snorkel on the vehicle . .
