Those shapes only really work in dinghy sizes where there is enough crew weight to keep the boat sailing flat in all conditions. It requires a very athletic crew, usually all crew in trapezes, or jib man in trapeze and helmsman kicking out. The best midship topside flair angle for a flat-bottomed boat with it's cg on centerline is about 17 degrees for max RM with a given girth measurement and about 30 degrees heel to down-flooding. For a file bottom hull, it's about 15 degrees, with slightly greater RM, greater displacement, and slightly lower M. But ballast can be added lower, so GM is usually about the same.
