I’ve been searching but there are allot of diferent techniques.

There are a lot of techniques because of differences in:

• hull shape including features and complexity
• how much, if any the shape will be based on an existing design
• starting information (another hull CAD model, a set of lines and offsets, simple drawings, only a set of requirements)
• requirements from uses of the hull shape including other software and users
• accuracy required (for example how parallel do parallel sides need to be be)
• personal preferences and experience
• other factors

Pick one method and learn how to use it. Then you will have a better understanding of the advantages
