Leaky injector

    Greetings all, I have a problem with a leaky injector seat on a Perkins 6354. The seat is scratched and has a gouge. I have cleaned it up and fitted a new copper washer, but she still blows. Can this be reamed in situ or must I remove the cylinder head? Many thanks Rammy

    Rammyboy,

    You may be able to seat a valve seat lapping tool down the hole, just make up a tool to seal the hole whilst the outside cutter can turn. sort of like the traditional water tap cutter set. The injector hold down bolts will locate everything Ok for you to turn the simple cutter around the shaft that goes into the injector hole.
