I'd like to purchase/commission a sailing monohull design for a personal building project.

    Background
I am an avid club racer that is generally interested in construction and boat building. I have some manufacturing experience and have access to some people that have some experience working with composites. In an ideal world I'd love to be able to build a boat with an inboard engine and heads with all the bells and whistles but I think that might be a little too ambitious for a first build. A Keel Sport boat with a strapped on outboard engine might be a good starting point.

    Spec Goals:
    Length between 26-30'
    Hull Deck Joint: inward turning
    Open transom
    T bulb keel
Extending/fixed bowsprit (I like the J boats and Far East boats, open however to fixed for simplicity)

    Decent IRC optimization
Fractional Rig - swept back spreaders with running backstays.
Non overlapping jib's (open to discussion)
    Asymmetric spinnakers.

    Materials and Other Critical Ratios:
Composite Sandwich Construction? (Basically GRP / GRP Foam sandwich)
I'd love to do some work with Carbon Fiber in some places but this is optional.
For the additional critical ratios I do not currently have anything fixed but would love to have an open and constructive conversation about these.

The plan is to request a friend of mine to CNC the foam plugs then build molds and subsequently the hull and deck.
The mast/spars : No plan, I'd like to have a discussion with the designer about these.
The Keel: Experience working with metals. The plan is to make the keel.

I've been a lurker on this forum for too long and have been contemplating this project for a while and I think its time to get moving.

Any leads or inputs in general would be extremely appreciated. Specially if you can point me to a designer or provide me with a design.

    Thank you!
