Yes, but if you look at the formulation, it is only an adjustment of the web depth to the web height value, it does not come up with anything "antibuckling-wise". It may indicate that there is one of AdHoc's "fudge-factors" involved. But since the required bending modulus 90-degrees to the skin can be achieved by a thin/high profile, or a "thick/low" one, resulting in widely differing buckling resistance, it deserves some additional thought.

Use top hat stiffeners, foam filled. There is less chance of buckling.

    Indeed.
It is just another way of representing the inertia with changing web depth.

Although it is more customary to use the depth of section, perpendicular to the axis of the plating it is attached too... i.e. the d^2/12, from the I=bd^3/12 for the inertia of a rectangular section.

So a 10cm deep FB inclined at 45degrees has a total depth of 7.07cm.....so either way, you get the same result.

It does by inference with the max web thickness to web depth ratio.

Likely these proportions won't work as this is the case of off-axis bending.

Depends whether the buckling is in-plane or out-of plane...and how eccentric the applied load is to the member.
