Thanks for continuing to contribute here. Most of this is my own fault. I shifted some weights too far forward, overbuilt the salon, etc, the boat, on balance is a dream.

I even used king starboard for the cabinet frames and the crap is awful heavy and doesn't really look that good.

Without seeing a view from aft looking fwd - on the transom - it would be just speculation.

    Hi Dan,
if you are still interested in building a carbon beam, the couple I mentioned above would be ok with direct contact.

The jackplate company said the water parts the transom and is coming up and deflecting up.

interceptors or a plate to close off the jack space

leaning toward stainless interceptors, but the boat has rocker, so the transom angle would be hard into the flow like a brake unless it has some angle...how much then???

Shower; hard to see from the angle but it does appear to be coming from under the transoms so my guess is it’s a consequence of the bow down trim.

Well, we are going to be working to fix that this winter, so maybe one thing at a time, but fixing it later would require pulling the boat..

it only happens above 2500 rpm

Unfortunately, my German is nicht sehr gut und I need someone to help me spec the laminate.

Is there anyway to spec a carbon laminate based on an aluminum counterpart?

My aluminum is 6061 or 6063 and 4.5 od and 1/4" thick which a major overkill.

I'd even pay for a schedule.

I am going to put this on pause. It seems daunting at 12 feet long. Even a local filament winding company only makes 8 footers and they charge $2000.

The only way I see to do it in carbon tube is using infusion which is too new for me to risk on such a big part.

Rob Denny uses Etamax engineering. I know it’s wrong continent but should be a reasonable price guide.
