Is there some way to attach a file that is larger than 10 MB?

Do I need to give access to dropbox, or is the link read only?

You can share a large dropbox file as view only. In dropbox when looking at the file, click the share button, verify link settings are "can view" and not "can edit" and then copy the share link. Then anyone can download that file with that share link. (If you create a shared folder, be sure you set it to "can view" and not "can edit")
