Aluminium Wake Boat Designer

Hi All,

New to the forum and found it in my search for a boat designer.

I'm located in Cambodia and am looking for a designer to help produce an aluminium wake boat design that I will be able to produce with the boat builder here.

I see that a member called TANSL has mentioned in another thread that he has an design for something like this, which would be great to see. I would be open to any suggestions on designers who be capable and willing to work on something like this.

Do you have any preliminary sketches showing the desirable features of the boat that you have in mind?
If so, is it similar to most of the other ally wake boats out there, or do you have some unique design ideas for it?
What other types of boat does your boat builder currently produce? I presume that they are all aluminium?

I will tag @TANSL and he should be along in the morning to respond to you.

Wow! Just wow! Maybe if Suamba can build boats like these in Cambodia, for much less cost that $400k, he could be on to a winner.
@Suamba, would your builder be able to produce boats of this quality?

They buy it because it costs $400k………the same thing but cheaper won’t sell

So if you inflate the price of a Mastercraft to $400k that a person would buy the "same thing" equivalent boat for $400??

Not likely.
These are equisitely handcrafted boats which takes hours to build. Excessively expensive but there are people who will pay a premium for the extra hours and quality of components, fit and
finish.

Sign me up for a boat equipped and built to this high standard "cheap" and I would certainly buy one.

to answer your question @bajansailor , no I don't have any preliminary sketches. To be honest I haven't really seen many ally wake boats outside the Pavati's, which is why I am looking to have something designed. I've seen this from 6000JT - CNC Marine but otherwise not much else, if you had any other references I'd love to see them.

With regards to specs, something like the below would be close, however I'd prefer something slightly shorter say between 20 to 22'

Sorry, you may, but most people won’t…..they buy it for the name and the dealer support and the name…..
 
Wakeboarding has become very popular on our small lake. I grew up slalom skiing where we spent money for a boat with a small wake. Now on a busy summers day the waves on the lake look like the lake is full of heavy 30 ft to 40 ft boats weighted down to catch fish. Nope, just a bunch of small boats making big waves. I try to not let it annoy me, but it does.... lol.

The idea of a wake surf boat is to produce the largest possible wake wave between 8 to 12 knots. Our lake boat produces the best wake at 10 + or - 1/2 a knot
Almost all are monohulls AND include various gates and tabs, water bags for weight adjustment etc AND being able to have these mechanical items on either side of the hull, in order to compensate for right foot forward or left foot forward surfers.

Unfortuneately for our surfers, we have a cross over boat (ski and surf) and the wake is adequate but NOT produce the best wave. If your hull design for a dedicated wake surf boat
does not produce a LARGE wake, it is unlikely that your design will catch on in the market.

Has this boat been built and tested yet?

I can't answer that question.
I know how those boats work and that was the idea, to avoid the bow wave as much as possible and form a large wave at the stern as far as possible from the hull and the propeller. The design can be opinionated and questionable, naturally. The only thing I can say is that the client was very satisfied because I provided him with what he had requested from me. After delivering this project I completely disassociated myself from the client.
As I said in my previous post, "this is what I have".
 
Looks interesting @TANSL , did you have a 3D of the design?

With regards to wakeshapers i recently found this bolt on system Wakesurfing/GoSurfAssist/GSA and there seem to be quite a lot of ballast systems on the market such as Fatsac Ballast . However would be good to also have the ballast tanks coorperated into the hull design,
