After the Tango Class 40, previously shown, please find the smaller version; the class 950.
Plenty of horse-power, water ballasted and with a deep keel, the boat will show her potential on the race course and or, in fast cruising passages.
On a small boat, there is more room to gain by going wider rather than longer. The maximum beam allowed by the 950 rule, gives a spacious interior.
I have opted for a lifting keel, but a fixed fin-keel is also available.
Concept.
The basic concept is of a simple,rugged,steel-hulled, blue water cruiser of moderate size. It is inspired in part by the Pardeys, and Bernard Moitessier's Tamata. Also by the reading of famous authors.
Lines Plan. First attempt. Based on given preliminary sections. Deemed too big at 68'. The subsequent drawings and models were reduced to a maximum length of 60'.
