Hi,
I would like to determine how to calculate the area in the attached.
You can see there are two area columns one is for righting and one is for heeling.
I've tried using Simpson but I can't seem to reverse engineer the formula of the area.
Please see attached file for your reference...
Hi Mates,
I have a question regarding the damage stability.
I know there are two methods:
- Loss of buoyancy method
- Added weight method
My question is. What do we have to converge on the calculation in order to get the Damage stability right?
Is the iteration to converge the CoG and CoB...
Dear Altruist,
I would like to calculate damage stability (Probabilistic and deterministic) by manual calculation, I mean in MS Excel. Can anyone tell me how can I do it? I will be grateful for me if you can suggest me any book where I can get any example or any excel sheet or any sample...
How to prevent progressive flooding in ship using marine valves? Could you please share any piping arrangement with valves that prevent progressive flooding? I was thinking about adding two valves one near the manifold and one near the each tank. However, what type of valve will be suitable in...
Hi,
Could you please explain the damage extent terms?
For example the length of the each of the compartments presented in the attached image is 6m , and Forepeak tank is 4m in length. FORT -1,2 each are 3m wide.
My questions are:
1. What is longitudinal extent and transverse extent in side...
This article is to demonstrate a method to automatically create damage tanks combination based on the AutoCAD platform
01: Brief introduction
This article includes a short video demonstrating the process of visually and automatically generating damage tank combinations based on AutoCAD graphics...
Hi, What is the Global V line and Local V line? I need to submit this drawing/calculation for a passenger-vessel along with probabilistic damage stability. I looked into the BV rules, however, I am not sure how to represent these in the booklet.
I found in the rule book that
"Watertight...
Dear Altruists,
I was doing the probabilistic damage stability of a passenger-vessel in Maxsurf. I am not getting the minimum required attained index for the vessel; I have tried with considering different zones selection but still no way.
Now I have the following queries:
1. How many adjacent...
Hello Experts!
I hope you all are doing well. First of all I Appreciate the platform because through that I have been able to design a program to calculate intact stability using KN CURVES.
Now I am moving towards damage stability I have few queries
1. Which method is better loss of buoyancy...
Too often, engineers have learned GHS simply by reading through the reference manual. Reference manuals do not provide the structure and layered introduction necessary for training in new software. GHS stands for General HydroStatics. It is a widely popular piece of software used for...
