    Hello,

I have a vessel in Hawaii with older 12V71 Turbo/Sup engines and one of them needs a short timeline in-frame rebuild. Willing to fly techs out and provide accomodations.

Looking for options for vendors and/or service proposals.

    Send to shawn@hawaiioceanadventures.com

    Regards

The conundrum with Detroit's. All the good techs are 70+ or dead.

I was in a similar predicament with a boat nearing the end of its service life and a rebuild would see it through and a repower was untenable. In the high horsepower ratings it's a bit harder. Was able to successfully get a remanufactured block and order all associated marinitization systems (oil cooler, water jacket exhaust etc.) And was able to get an 8v 71 fixed up rather well. Priced out a reman on a pumped up 6v92 and it was 26 to 28k plus freight removed from hull and shipped by me. Boat was located on another island in the pacific but with snow on it..... and was not successful at finding anyone willing to in frame it.

Goodluck with your search, I've been in the jimmy mechanic search mode. It's not easy, my last mechanic died in 16' my last 8v71 be a cummins next year....
