    "My Dream"

At the present time, I am in the midst of building my dream boat. The hull is an old 30' Trojan, which most boaters know, is a fairly fast modified V hull. It is beamy at 11', but since I live in Florida, USA, boats of this size are common place. I will be trailering her. Anyone with the slightest experience of boats knows that although they are large, they are far from heavy and don't require "Big Rigs" to move them. The power plants that are being put into her are Ford 351 Windsor engines, straight inboards. The twist is, these engines are not the average small blocks. These engines have been stroked to 393 cubic inches. By stroking these engines, I will have the power of "Big Blocks" without the weight or fuel requirements. My objective of this design is to cruise at the designed WOT speed of 32Kts. In order to save more weight, I stripped the hull bare even removing the old stringers and am installing new stringers, bulkheads, flooring, etc. with closed cell foam encapsulated with FRP. Instead of sleeping 6, I've removed the super structure and will configure her as a Center Console/Walk Around. One of the interesting things that I discovered is that with a large CC, there's room under the forward deck for 4 bunks. She has been an interesting and challenging project. Hopefully she'll be in the water by summer. Her name is "WET DREAM".

To "MY DREAM" I have all the original plans on this boat if you need any. Live in Florida also. There is a club for Trojan owners. This hull is Harry Schoell's Delta Conic patented hull which preceded his Duo Delta Conic hull. My dream is the 50' Duo Delta Conic Harry designed and it is trailerable at 13,000 lbs. with my Excursion.

If I were to have a boat as the dream boat, the first thing would be the most efficent hull, as it would take less hp to acheive the speed required. There are several tried and tested that are close so the next would be stability of which it narrows to one..

Larson has a 27' that gets close to the dream boat.
