3.7m flat-packed catamaran: a beta-product for kit-builders in the form of a twin-hull craft at a minimal cost without prejudice to performance. Comprises a deck formed of 35/kg/cu/m density PU foam with a laminated polyester CSM scrim, and framed with 75 x 75 mm timber spars that extend to support a pair of planed 25 x 100 mm skis. Lessons accrued from construction will be included in a new-build at 3.0m (half-length pultrusion) that can be disassembled for transport and storage. Eventually designed for use with an aero-engine situated around the C of G, versions for an outboard include a monobloc foam 'ramp' beneath the rear-deck to support the weight cantilevered at the transom. FRP struts at point of maximum draught are fixed for ground-handling.
