Robert Biegler: Paravane-stabilised proa
Testing a paravane and a double-skinned junk sail on a borrowed proa in August 2000 on Loch Lomond. Winds were light to moderate during the week, no waves to speak of, and I couldn't take the boat with me when I moved to another country, so that is all the testing I did. The paravane did seem to stabilise the boat, in so far as I could tell in winds that barely lifted the ama. Steering by paravane did not work with this deep V hull, but had worked earlier (with a different paravane) on a canoe.
